The site of this hotel located at the northeast corner of Lexington Avenue and East 48th Street is quite unique in its the relationship to Park Avenue and Grand Central Station from the viewpoint of Manhattan townscape. The mirrored glass facade of the building reflects the surrounding classic style buildings and creates the effect that the building is blending into its surroundings despite its design expression. The building, podium and tower is cut at the corner to emphasize its relationship to the corner.
